The main differences between the hammer (Big Face) and the Estwing Supreme 22oz Pointed Tip Rock Hammer is the new Big Face has, wait for it, a bigger face. Think of it like a bull dog or a pug. It's like the 22oz hammer's striking edge is "pushed in" towards the shaft. Like a mountain range created when two plates collide! The 22oz hammer's head is about 7/8'' square while the Big Face hammer's head is 1 1/8'' square, about a 1/4'' bigger on each side. Overall the weight of the Estwing Supreme Big Face 24 oz Pointed Tip Rock Hammer E6-24PC and the Estwing Supreme 22oz Pointed Tip Rock Hammer E3-22P are about the same. The Big Face has extra head weight which imparts a more powerful impact, but the overall weight was held the same by attaching the grip to the handle shaft in a different way.
