Everyone in the vicinity of the fluorescent light should be protected with a pair of these glasses. (Note: Your eyes detect the UV light, it just damages your eyes. The colors that fluorescent minerals display is light in the visible range emitted by the excited mineras. The Raytech UV Glassess do not block the visible light, only the invisible UV light.)

Honestly, I was expecting some cheap flemsy plastic goggles for the price I paid, but boy was I wrong! These were very thick, high grade, crystal clear plastic, and very well made. They came with a nice protective cover/case to keep them in. I appreciated they offered UV protection all the way around they eye, including on the sides. Very nice! I'm going to attach a piece of elastic on the ear pieces so I can "strap" them on and not have to worry about them sliding down my face if I should look down--they haven't yet, but it's a concern of mine. After that, I think they'll be perfect!
